London Fire Brigade confirmed that two fire engines and around 10 firefighters were called in the early hours of the morning to a fire at a house in Titchfield Road in Enfield.

Part of the ground floor of the property was badly damaged by fire.

During the incident, three people were rescued from a first floor bedroom via an internal staircase by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

The Brigade was called at 0254 and the fire was under control at 0335. Fire crews from Enfield fire station attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
