The footage below, released by the Metropolitan Police, shows the moment when specially trained police drivers pursue a Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes failed to stop for police, taking officers on a high-speed pursuit through London.
Without any regard for the safety of other road users, the fleeing driver narrowly avoids hitting a pedestrian as he tries to run from the police.
Owing to the nature of the suspect’s driving, officers struck the Mercedes to bring the pursuit to an end.
The Met did not release the footage of the actual impact, only the footage of the Mercedes being pursued.
