Warwickshire Police have released some dramatic dashcam footage of the final moments of a 140 mph pursuit that happened last month (Jan 21).
The driver of the Golf, 34-year-old Roman John Francis, had given police the slip during an earlier pursuit that happened in Rugby.
Officers placed a marker on the vehicle, and it was not long until Francis was located once again.

We need your help. As former emergency services & armed forces personnel, we pride ourselves on bringing you important, fast-moving and breaking news stories which are free from the negative bias which is often directed at the emergency services by some sections of the mainstream media.
One of the reasons we started 'Emergency Services News' was because we became tired of reading badly informed stories about the emergency services which seemed only ever to highlight negative aspects of the job.
We want to be the unheard voice of the remarkable men and women who serve in the emergency services, NHS and armed forces. And with around 500k page views each month, we are getting there!
As income from ads, the mainstay source of income for most publishers, continues to decline; we need the help of our readers.
And remember, if you have a service, product or job vacancy that you would like to promote to our large readership, then you can buy advertising space in our articles.
You can support emergency services news from as little as £1. It only takes a minute. Every contribution, however big or small, is vital for our future.
Please help us to continue to highlight the life-saving work of the emergency services, NHS and armed forces by becoming a supporter.
24 months, out in 12. He stole a car, was driving while disqualified, was speeding, driving dangerously, had no insurance and was drunk. 140 mph in the fog constitutes dangerous driving in anybody’s book.
Assuming this was a first theft offence, somewhat unlikely, he should have got 2 years for theft, the remainder of his current ban plus a doubling of said ban, served inside, So he would probably be looking at a good couple of years for the first ban and its extension, plus 4 years for drunk driving and 8 for dangerous driving, each sentence doubling up on the last. He should also have been considered for permanent loss of licence.
He would be in his 50s when released and is unlikely to misbehave again, but if he did, then he would be straight back inside with double his last set of sentences, namely 28 years.
The cost would be formidable, although he could work for his board and lodging by peddling an exercise bike 8 hours a day hooked up to the national grid. Alternatively, bring back the old treadmill and hook that up to the national grid.
