Footage has emerged on social media of the moment a police officer (Newburgh, USA) is punched in the face by a suspect only minutes after arriving on scene to an incident.
Police attended the location after a resident called 911 to complain that a male was threatening her and her family.
Footage captured by a witness shows the moment that a lone K-9 officer pulled up on the scene before starting to talk to a male.
The suspect continues to threaten the officer moments before the police dog grabs hold of him
The male instantly became animated and aggressive in his demeanour, before punching the officer in the face.
The officer then returns to his car and lets his police dog out of the vehicle.
The police dog instantly recognises the threat being posed by the male suspect and proceeds to place the suspect in a hold, allowing enough time for the officer who had been assaulted to help subdue the suspect.
The suspect continued to struggle with the K-9 officer until additional units arrived on the scene.
The male suspect continues to fight the officer and the police dog
Randy Martinez, the individual who posted the video online, said:
“This is not police brutality.
“They were doing there [sic] job as this man came into my property and threatened me and my family.
