Cripes, they are going to be VERY popular in Towns and Cities – especially at Night – when they conveniently “forget” to not use them between 2300-0700 ( the old Home Office Guideline Times).

I’d love to know where you got that information from, since I’ve never heard of this home office guidance before. Police officers are taught on their driving course that they cannot turn their sirens off unless they can seriously justify it and not wanting to wake up people is not an acceptable reason. So no they’re not forgetting, they just don’t want to get prosecuted if they get into crash.

Well I would certainly be having an accident if that came up behind me and I am not talking of the crash variety!

With the number of hearing and sight impaired individuals on the road who can’t see/hear emergency vehicles approaching hopefully this will help. Would like to see them on Ambulances soon too. Because even at 5t and bright yellow they still don’t see us!

Crap. Bring back the old 2 tone air horns. You can’t hear these at 70 on a motorway.
