The Metropolitan Police has released some body-worn camera footage of the moment when a male repeatedly stabbed a police officer in the face with a pen.

Officers had been called to Manor Park Crescent, Edgware, at around 10:25hrs on Sunday, 16 August 2020 after Romanian national, Adrian Popa, was spotted in residential gardens.

At the time, Popa had bail conditions which prevented him from being in the area.

After trying to run away from officers, he confronted an officer who had caught up with him before violently attacking her.

Full story, including the details of the sentence that was handed down to Popa, are in the video below:

Absolutely disgraceful that for the ABH he only got 15 months, however to make it worse he got away with it as the sentence was to run concurrently. What an insult to our Police, the 15 months should have been consecutively with deportation order to follow. So much for protecting our emergency workers. The judge needs sacking.

Deport! Why doesn’t deportation happen more often! If they can’t keep our laws, they shouldn’t be allowed to stay.

Wot a disgrace of a sentence that poor officer u can hear her voice is in terror and he gets a sentence like that it’s no good aiming for conviction when the sentence is criminal in its self

If that officer was my partner

I would smash his teeth in and more and if u want I would gladly visit him and do it

    Hope she’s ok respect x

3 years and 10 months for threats to kill and a derisory 15 months for stabbing a PC? That is pathetic for a start, but to have them run concurrently merely adds insult to injury. He will be out in under 3 years and will go straight back to his murderous ways.

This vile individual should be deported in perpetuity and if his family cannot support themselves without recourse to benefits, they can go too.

Until people who come here understand that if they abuse our hospitality they will be kicked out, this will only get worse.
