A Police Inspector has spoken candidly about the moment she was viciously assaulted from behind by a coward who has been spared from having to go to prison following the senseless attack that resulted in Inspector Sleeman being knocked unconscious.

This comes only weeks after a male who threw an egg at the Labour Party Leader, Jeremy Corbyn, was sent to prison for 28 days.

Following the attack on Inspector Sleeman, she was forced to time time off work owing to the distress caused from being the victim of an unprovoked attack where she had no chance to defend herself.

In the video (see below), published by Cheshire Police Federation, Inspector Sleeman talks about the attack.

Ms Sleeman explains that she was on shift when the local nightclubs started to close.

Across the road from where Insp Sleeman was standing, she noticed that there were two males who seemed to become increasingly agitated and aggressive towards each other.

A girl then came out of one of the nightclub and started to shout at the males.

At this point, Insp Sleeman went over to speak to the female at which point Insp Sleeman was pushed in the chest by the girl.

Insp Sleeman led the girl away in order to speak to her about her conduct.

It was at this point that Insp Sleeman felt a sharp pain in the side of her head and was knocked out by her attacker.

Insp Sleeman fell to the floor and regained consciousness after a few moments.

Insp Sleeman could feel something ‘pouring’ from her head and it was at this point that she realised that she was bleeding heavily after the unprovoked attack.

When Insp Sleeman reviewed the CCTV, she realised that the male who had attacked her was not someone she had even spoken to.

The male had walked up to her and hit her around the side of the head whilst holding a mobile phone in his hand.

In the video, Insp Sleeman explains that she had to take a month off of work after she kept experiencing dizzy spells following the attack.

She was also unable to drive her car, take her dog for a walk or take her children anywhere.

The individual who assaulted Insp Sleeman was charged with Actual Bodily Harm, despite knocking the police inspector unconscious from behind.

Insp Sleeman explained that the first Judge who reviewed the CCTV had stated that the attacker would be going to prison.

But another Judge decided to give the male a years sentence which was suspended for 18 months owing to the fact that the defendants Barrister explained that the male who assaulted her had ‘signed up for a college course that he needed to start’.

The results of this case come only months after the Assaults On Emergency Services (Workers) Act made it onto the statute books.

The law is, in part, supposed to protect emergency services personnel by ensuring that tougher sentences are handed out to anyone who is convicted of assaulting a member of the emergency services.

    This is absolutely unacceptable.
And, nobody “threw an egg at the Labour Party Leader,” – they smashed him in the side of the head with it using their fist.
