Tributes have been paid to a Metropolitan Police Officer who sadly passed away the Christmas period.
PC Joe Cooke who worked on the Territorial Support Group (TSG) and in the London Borough of Hackney during his time in the Metropolitan Police and has been described as:
“a respected colleague and much-loved friend who has been taken far too early.”
He passed away unexpectedly after a ‘routine’ shoulder operation leaving behind a loving family, two children and many friends.
PC Cooke spent two weeks in a coma before he died.
A serving officer in the TSG, who did not want to be named, who knew PC Cooke told Emergency Services News:
“Joe was a true gent. A really nice guy who had the respect of not only his colleagues but of many people who he came into contact with at work”.
A Just Giving page has been set up in order to help the family and children of PC Joe Cooke with a message that said:
“Joe passed away after a routine operation leaving behind a loving family, two beautiful children and many many friends.
“Joe touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with, with his cheery personality, big smile and even bigger bear hugs!!
“Joe was a much respected serving Police Officer in The Metropolitan Police Service
“Joseph Cooke formerly 814GD, now 3107U, warrant number 230105, rest easy my friend you have served your time with distinction and pride. We love you and miss you very much.”
So far the Just Giving page has raised £8,814 from an initial target of £5,000.
