At around 14:40 hours on Sunday 4th August, Met Police response team officers were called to reports of a young boy thrown from the tenth-floor viewing platform of the Tate Modern in Bankside SE1.
Officers attended along with medics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
Upon arrival at the scene, a six-year-old boy was found on a fifth-floor roof.
Police confirmed that he was treated at the scene and taken to hospital by London’s Air Ambulance.
The boy’s condition has now been assessed as critical but stable; police are supporting his family.
A 17-year-old male had remained with members of the public on the tenth-floor viewing platform.
Police have confirmed that there is nothing to suggest that the male is known to the victim.
Police officers arrested the teenager on suspicion of attempted murder and taken into police custody.
Several members of the public who witnessed the incident are said to be assisting police with witness statements.
