A Kent Police dog has supported officers finding a suspected thief after the criminal removed several roof tiles from a property near Tonbridge.

Kent Police was called at 22:35 hours on Wednesday 6 January 2021 to a report of two trespassers trying to enter a building in Half Moon Lane, Tudeley.

The suspects were said to have removed around 30 tiles from the roof of the building.

Local 999 response team officers rushed to the scene and with the help of PD ‘Biggy’ searched the area.

PD Biggy and his handlers located a 33-year-old man from Pembury in a nearby field.

He was arrested and later released pending further investigation.

Is nothing sacred? I am assuming we really are talking about tiles and not slates. Tiles, concrete or pottery, are heavy. While the latter might have a viable second hand value, the former much less so and in both cases, only reasonable volumes would be commercially viable.

My question to the judge is this. Are you going to send them to a normal jail or a mental hospital? Either way, thieves should be incarcerated.
