Those who are against the police using stop and search powers (despite having never spent a single day on the streets as a police officer) might want to skip this article, as it highlights just how effective stop and search is.

Late yesterday evening (24th January) Officers from the Metropolitan Polices’ Territorial Support Group (U34) shared the details of a stop and search they had carried out that resulted in a ‘sawn-off shotgun’ and two knives being taken off of the streets in Hackney, east London.

Officers have been ramping up the use of stop and search after they were lambasted in some sections of the mainstream media for ‘over using’ the tool in previous years.

As a result of this ‘pressure’ being applied to response team and pro-active officers, stop and search, for a period of time, was used less often.

Many people have said that this interference from certain individuals and organisations who have absolutely zero comprehension as to how and why stop and search is used in the first place, has contributed to the worrying spike in knifecrime being witnessed by forces around the country.

But thanks to hardworking and dedicated response teams and proactive units, more and more weapons are being seized from people as a direct result of stop and search.

Too often, we are told by ‘professional bystanders’ that stop & searches are being carried out for reasons which seek only to push the agenda’s of some news outlets (and individuals) who seem obsessed with trying to convince people that stop and search is based on the colour of someones skin.

In reality, stop and searches are carried out by officers who have a very intimate understanding of the ‘signs’ which raise suspicion in an officers mind in relation to individuals who are likely to being in possession of an offensive weapon.

During my own time serving on the front line of the thin blue line, I saw thousands of stop and searches being carried out.

And not a single one of these stop and searches was initiated owing to the colour of someones skin.

Congrats. You got a broken flintlock and a garden tool. I can’t tell you how relieved I am. While you were wanking this nonsense, someone build three more submachine guns in their basement, and probably three more girls were trafficked into sexual slavery.
