Today (13/12) Thomas King, aged 21, of Gregory Close, Basingstoke, has appeared at the Old Bailey for a pre-trial preliminary hearing in connection with the death of PC Andrew Harper.
PC Andrew Harper was killed on 15th August 2019 after responding to reports of a burglary.
At today’s hearing, King pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to steal a quad bike.
He will be sentenced for this offence at a later date.
Three other people have been charged with murder in connection with PC Andrew Harper’s death, and their trial will begin at the Old Bailey on 9th March, 2020.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said:
“Due to the fact that legal proceedings remain active in this case, the force will not be making any comment on King’s guilty plea at this time”.
PC Harper initially joined Thames Valley Police as a special constable in 2010, before joining as a regular police constable in 2011.
Four weeks before his tragic death, PC Harper married his long-time partner, Lissie Harper.
They had been expecting to go on their official honeymoon in mid-August.
PC Harper worked for the Thames Valley Road Policing Unit (RPU)
