Vans aren’t renowned for their visibility when it comes to reversing them in the dark – especially if you are trying to manoeuvre next to a ledge.
Eagle-eyed spotter Shaun Hempsall caught the image just before 9 pm on Sunday 1st September in Skegness.
Shaun posted on Facebook: “I thought it was just holidaymakers that park badly.”

He told Lincolnshire Live that he saw the van just south of the steps to Skegness pier with the wheels in the air over a two to three ft drop.
There has been some speculation on social media that the driver of the police van had been responding to an emergency call before becoming perched on the ledge.
