When ‘Lily’ the springer spaniel was stolen just before Christmas, her family appealed for the public’s help to find her.
Lily was in her owner’s car when callous thieves stole it only days before Christmas.
And whilst property can be replaced, family pets cannot.
When South Yorkshire Police, who are investigating the theft, saw the plea for information made by Lily’s owners, they shared it with their 260k followers.
And sure enough, a member of the public provided the whereabouts of Lily to officers.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said:
“Yesterday we issued an appeal for information about Lily the springer spaniel, who was in her owner’s car when it was stolen in Sheffield before Christmas.
“Well…last night, someone spotted our appeal and provided the piece of the jigsaw we needed to get Lily back safe and sound!
“PC 190 Ledger and PC 1125 Gould from Ecclesfield had the lovely job of returning her to her owners.”
