The Met Police has asked for the publics help in trying to identify four males who dressed up as police officers before breaking into a residential property and assaulting the occupier.

In the footage (below), four males enter the victims driveway before exiting their vehicle and putting on various items of ‘police clothing’.

One of the males, who gets out of the rear passenger seat of the VW Golf, appears to be a wearing a high-vis police utility vest as well as a baseball cap with the word ‘police’ written in white on the front of the cap.

Another male who exits the dark coloured Golf from the front passenger seat is also wearing a black baseball cap with the word ‘police’ written on it.

He also appears to be putting an ‘earpiece’ into his left ear as he approaches the property.

He immediately then runs up to the front door of the property before kicking it as his accomplises also prepare themselves for the impending burglary.

The male wearing the high-vis ‘police’ jacket then appears to take a crowbar out of the boot of the car whilst his fellow burglars repeatedly kick at the front door of the property.

The two males wearing the ‘police’ baseball caps along with another male who is wearing a black-hooded top, each then kick the front door of the property.

After several kicks, the door gives way and the four males run into the house in Barnet, north London.

The footage that was caught on CCTV inside of the property then switches to the kitchen where an occupant inside the address at the time of the incident is assaulted by two of the males.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:

“These men are wanted after they forced their way into a house in Barnet dressed as police officers.

“They attacked the occupant of the house, beating him & throwing liquid into his face before stealing phones & a wallet.

“If you have any information then please call the police on 101”.
