Details have emerged over the weekend of the moment firefighters from Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service came under attack whilst dealing with a fire.
Clay Cross Police Safer Neighbourhood Team confirmed that on Friday 12th April between 21:45 and 22:10 hours, firefighters from Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service attended a report of a fire at a Skate Park in North Wingfield.
Whilst dealing with the fire, a group have attacked the firefighters whereby two firefighters have been punched and struck with bottles.
As a result of his injuries, one of the firefighters required hospital treatment.
A spokesperson for Clay Cross Police Safer Neighbourhood Team said:
“If you have any information regarding the assaults of emergency services personnel, please contact Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
“This is not acceptable and we will be making enquries in and around the area”.
