When Ash Haynes was medically retired from a job that he loved, he knew that he did not want to sit around at home. Ashley spent 12 years helping the public as a police officer.

But after being medically retired, he wanted to find a way to raise money for mental health charities whilst also not wanting to live off of the state.

Like many other front-line emergency services personnel, during his 12 years of service in the police, Ash saw and witnessed things which the human brain was never really designed to be repeatedly exposed to.

Yes, at some point, most people witness a traumatic event during their lives. But emergency services personnel see these sort of events daily.

Incidents involving children hit emergency services personnel particularly hard. The extreme violence – and the effects of extreme violence – leave memories which are imprinted on your brain that never really leave you.

One way of keeping your mind extremely busy, however, is to set your own business up. And that is exactly what Ashley did.

Talking about ‘999 Gin’, the business that Ash founded, he told Emergency Services News:

‘999 Gin is for those who put others first.

“Designed for those who work for the emergency services, their families and support network by people who have been there and have the scars.

“For each bottle sold, £5 goes towards a 999 PTSD charity. So with every bottle you buy, you will be supporting a colleague and their loved ones who are fighting a daily battle with their mental health.

“This gin isn’t a gimmick it’s a brand made for the people who work for the emergency services and we will continue to grow and support you”.

Ashley’s award-winning recipe has proved to be very popular amongst his customer.

Many of Ashley’s customers leave 5-star reviews on his product, which has only acted to spur Ashley on even more.

WE NEED YOUR HELP.Here at Emergency Services News, we aim to tell you stories that the mainstream media are not interested in reporting. Whilst the MSM love to berate and ridicule the emergency services, who is there to report on the realities of serving on the front line?

Emergency Services News is currently a loss-making entity. But our team of volunteers, all former emergency services personnel, do not do it for the money.

We do it because we are sick and tired of the mainstream media constantly trying to undermine the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep you and your family safe.

How many MSM journalists who speak ill of the emergency services have actually dared to don the uniform and risk their own lives to save the life of a complete stranger? If you would like to help back our mission of reporting on fact-based news, then please consider helping to support us financially.

You can support emergency services news from as little as £1. It only takes a minute. Every contribution, however big or small, is vital for our future.

Please help us to continue to highlight the life-saving work of the emergency services, NHS and armed forces by becoming a supporter.
