Essex Police have appealed for the publics help to try and locate a male who is wanted in connection with an attempted GBH against a police officer.

On Saturday 13th June, the driver of a black Landrover Freelander attempted to cause grievous bodily harm to a police officer.

The driver, who had been arrested on suspicion of driving offences, had refused to provide a breath test sample. He also refused to get out of the vehicle.

As an arrest attempt was being made, the man drove away, colliding with two police cars and narrowly missing a police officer.

Police are now looking for 33-year-old Terrance Purkiss concerning the incident. Purkiss is 5ft 8ins tall, is of a slim build and also has links to the Romford area.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Purkiss is being asked to call Grays Police Station on 101.

Information can also be given completely anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 or visiting crimestoppers-uk.org
