A man has been charged with various offences, including GBH on a police officer, following an incident in Clifton Road, Croydon, on 21st July.
Officers responded to an address after a member of the public called 999 claiming that a male at the location was making threats to residents.
Response team officers responded to the call for help and were assaulted as they attempted to investigate the incident.
Two police officers were hospitalised following the assault.
Alec Lemard, 36 (18.05.84) of Douglas Road, Preston, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm, actual bodily harm and making threats to kill, as well as two public order and one racially aggravated public order offences.
Lemard is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today (23rd July).
