Greater Manchester Police have charged a man after he allegedly attempted to push a police officer into a canal.
Stephen Morris, 32, of Albert Road, Manchester, has been charged with assaulting an emergency worker after the police officer had a narrow escape.
On Sunday 31st Maay, a man attempted to try and push a female officer into the canal at Salford Quays.
The officer suffered minor injuries following the incident.
Morris has been remanded into custody to appear at Salford Magistrates’ Court.
