If You Feel The Need To Protest, Then DON’T Stop The Emergency Services From Doing Their Job!

There are many things which I am passionate about and which I would probably be happy protesting about.

For example, I am passionate about preventing emergency services personnel from being abused.

I am also passionate about the welfare and mental health of my former colleagues in the emergency services, NHS and armed forces.

When it comes to Brexit, then, yes; there are things which I look at and think: ‘wtf is going on’.

Would I disrupt the day of other people because of what I feel passionate about? No. Would I plonk myself in the street in order to make a point? No.

Would I instead sit outside the Houses of Parliament in order to show my dissatisfaction at something? Probably.

Would I stop an emergency vehicle from responding to a call, because I believe that what I have to say, is more important than someones life?

Absolutely, 100% not.

But that is exactly what some protestors did recently when they decided to shut down Westminster Bridge.

In the footage below, you will see some people in yellow vests sat in the road in order to stop traffic.

You will then hear an ambulance approaching the scene, with its sirens activated.

Did the yellow-vest-wearing protestors move out of the way in order to let the ambulance get to the emergency call that it was responding to? NO.

Instead, the individuals sat on the bridge became even MORE excited at the prospect of stopping an emergency ambulance getting to the call that it was responding to.

You will see in the video that as the ambulance approached, then even MORE people decided to sit down and were overcome with excitement as they did so. Now that, is sad.

I wonder how the people sitting down would have felt, if they later found out that the ambulance had been responding to an incident where their child had been injured in, for example, an RTC?

They would go made. They would demand that people were held to account. They would be sickened at the thought of their loved ones life being put in jeopardy because of the selfish actions of a few.

And yet, they were quite happy to block the path of this emergency ambulance. How very sad.

One numpty can even be seen to jump and up down in excitement as the ambulance approaches!

Having seen the video, I for one will have far less ‘compassion’ for their cause. They have lost a lot of respect in my eyes.

Before you go...

WE NEED YOUR HELP.Here at Emergency Services News, we aim to tell you stories that the mainstream media are not interested in reporting. Whilst the MSM love to berate and ridicule the emergency services, who is there to report on the realities of serving on the front line?

Emergency Services News is currently a loss-making entity. But our team of volunteers, all former emergency services personnel, do not do it for the money.

We do it because we are sick and tired of the mainstream media constantly trying to undermine the men and women who put their lives on the line to keep you and your family safe.

How many MSM journalists who speak ill of the emergency services have actually dared to don the uniform and risk their own lives to save the life of a complete stranger? If you would like to help back our mission of reporting on fact-based news, then please consider helping to support us financially.

You can support emergency services news from as little as £1. It only takes a minute. Every contribution, however big or small, is vital for our future.

Please help us to continue to highlight the life-saving work of the emergency services, NHS and armed forces by becoming a supporter.
