A gang of teenagers vandalised parts of Kidderminster Hospital during a rampage which saw glass doors being smashed, fire extinguishers being set off and specialist equipment being damaged.
The vile act happened just before 0100 hours on Sunday 22nd March as an overstretched NHS battle to save the lives of people who have become infected with COVID-19.
West Mercia Police have appealed to the public for information and have asked drivers who might have been in the area at the time to check their dashcam footage.
A police spokesperson said:
“Around 1 am on the morning of Sunday, 22nd March, officers were called by Kidderminster General Hospital on Bewdley Road after a large group of teenagers smashed the glass doors and entered the hospital, setting off the alarms.
“The group then proceeded to set off fire extinguishers and break equipment around the hospital.”
Insp Dave King said:
“At this very challenging time for our healthcare system and wider emergency services, it is unacceptable for anyone to tamper, destroy or in any way hamper the effectiveness of hospital equipment or ambulances.
“An investigation is underway, and I would urge the public if they have any information to please come forward and get in touch.
“This behaviour will not be tolerated, and I call on the support of our community in identifying the culprits.
“If you have information, caught anything suspicious on your car dashcam footage between 12.30 am, and 2 am, please call us on 101 and quote incident 0020s 22nd March 2020.”

The judiciary should come down hard on these wrong doers and issue heavy fines to be paid for the rest of their lives as well as a heavy sentence. There is no respect for property or emergency workers from youngsters. If I had my way they would all be given 20 lashes of the birch per month for 1 year.

every hospital should have at least a security dog handler, i am almost certain this would cut down the number of security incidents considerably. worth a trial at any rate.
I agree that if they had z dog each they’re would not ne half the trouble being a registered dog handler with the correct licence to be a dog handler which I gained in the Army and have to take a refresher course each year.
So I am qualified to say that it would be within the law and as long as people are warned of your intentions before the dog is realised then these people reap what they sow and I would love to be one of those handlers to do it lol.
The security is poor, and equipment is stolen regularly. Cameras, and metal detectors could help, but a double door one at each end of a tunnel style exit, and the ability to close them automatically, if any infringement occurs, with a police officer appointed to apprehend the culprits, and to be on duty 24 hours a day. (Not the same person for the whole day, of course.)
Security Dog Handler’s. And make them do Litter picking for 12 months or 5 years sentence in solitary Confinement.
CCTV not working. that should show the wrongdoers.

BRING BACK THE BIRCH THEY ARE JUST COWARDS. They always have to be with others for support. Why should we feed these scumbags in prison? Birch them and they won’t do it again. These scumbags are a waste of space and should be made to pay for the damage that they have caused. They must have frightened the staff to death That were on duty and they don’t go to work to be abused they are working long shifts as it is. My ❤️ goes out to them all. The NHS staff deserve medals. If and when they are arrested they should be put in the army not the prisons. Rant finished sorry but makes my blood boil especially at a time like this.

If these low-life scum are caught they should be simply denied any NHS treatment for 10 years, especially if they catch the Covid 19, just isolate snd leave them all together!
