Firefighters from Exmouth Fire Station got a call for assistance that they probably never thought they would never have to deal with, despite being out ‘in the sticks’.
Exmouth Fire Station is one of several fire stations in the south-west which have Specialist Rescue Teams and their expertise was needed after a cow somehow managed to get stuck in a tree.
In a post shared on their Facebook page, a spokesperson said:
“When our colleagues at fire control mobilised our Specialist Rescue Team to assist Cullompton Fire Station we thought it was a typo “…cows legs are stuck in a tree and hanging…”

“This was a really challenging incident, but we’re pleased to report the cow was rescued and (eventually) wondered off….. or moooooved on?!

“The crews took stock of the situation and were udderly brilliant, even though the Steaks were high.

“Sorry if the puns aren’t aMOOsing, we’ve probably milked it a bit, and some we’ve used before, so sorry for the deja-moo”.
If anything, then their social media guru should surely be nominated for getting the most amount of puns in one post!

Great job guys – udderly fantastic… Glad it was a hoofin’ success…
