Thames Valley Police has released some images of various war medals which were stolen during a burglary in Cholsey.

Officers confirmed that between 11.15am and 2.45pm on Wednesday (10/7), glass at the front of a residential dwelling in Reading Road was smashed and suspects then entered the house.

According to Thames Valley Police, the distinctive German war medals, including those pictured, were stolen from the house as well as various other items including alcohol, jewellery and credit cards.

Officers investigating the burglary have confirmed that the victim’s credit cards were used later in the day between 14:45 hours and 16:30 hours in Tilehurst.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Frankie Jarvis, based at Abingdon police station, said:

“I am appealing for anyone who recognises these distinctive medals that are of significant sentimental value to the victims.

“Please help us in keeping an eye out for these on any buying and selling sites, car boot sales and second-hand shops.

“Equally if you saw or heard anything you feel to be suspicious in the Cholsey area on Wednesday lunchtime please get in touch as your information may be vital to our investigation.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage from between 1 pm and 1.30pm in the area on 10 July.

“I would especially like to speak to a man who was seen in the area around the time of the offence who may have vital information about this offence.

“He is described as a white man aged in his late twenties or early thirties.

“He is around 6ft tall, of a medium build with fair hair. He was wearing light coloured clothing and had tattoos on his arms.

“I also believe that a small silver car was seen in the area at the time so if you can help us with this line of enquiry, then please get in touch.

“You can contact us using our online form or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43190209835.

“Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously online or by calling 0800 555 111.”
