Officers from Essex Polices’ Marine Unit have paid tribute to one of their colleagues who died on Saturday, having contracted Covid.
In a post shared on their Twitter page, a spokesperson for the unit said:
‘We are devastated to say we lost one of our Marine Officers to Covid 19 on Saturday.
‘Rest well, Toby, we will take it from here.
‘Our thoughts & prayers are with his family.

‘Please, everyone Adhere to government regulations to help save lives.
‘This virus has no respect for age & Health’

Another colleague of Toby’s added:
‘Toby was always smiling. A really lovely guy. A terrible loss for his family, colleagues and Essex Police. Thoughts with you all.
