Following a hearing today, it has been announced that the new trial into the death of PC Andrew Harper will start on Monday 22nd June at the Old Bailey in London.
PC Harper was killed in August last year (2019) after responding to reports of a burglary in process.
The original trial had started shortly before COVID-19 began to spread rapidly throughout the UK population.
But the presiding judge decided to stop the trial owing to the risk posed by COVID-19, and because several jurors had started to show signs of having the deadly virus.
Henry Long, Albert Bowers and Jessie Cole all deny murder.
