A young boy spent his boxing day giving out presents to Bromley’s emergency services after he got upset when he found out that they had to work during Christmas.
Danyal Mirza, aged five, thought that it was unfair that he was allowed to spend the day with family opening presents while the emergency services were busy working.
Danyal, who has recently moved to West Wickham from Beckenham, visited Bromley South Police Station and the ambulance station on boxing day in order to hand out donuts.
His Dad told News Shopper:
“We were waiting to pick up my wife from the train station and he saw police officers coming out.
“He asked me what they would be doing over Christmas and I explained that if they were all on holidays nobody would be here to protect us.
“He was very upset and wouldn’t move. Danyal was in tears so I told him we would bring them treats.”
Young Danyal ensured that his dad kept his promise and went on a trip to Bromley South police station on Boxing Day.
One of the front office staff came from behind the counter in order to sit with Danyal to thank him for his kind gesture.
“Danyal was so happy,” his dad said.
“He understood there was not enough treats for everybody but the first thing he said was ‘when are we going to see the ambulance people.'”
After enjoying a film in the afternoon, Danyal insisted that they go back out to visit the ambulance depot before eating any dinner.
Ronnie said he was “overwhelmed” to the response his son’s kindness has inspired.
