Hapless Motorist Mistakes Footpath For A Road
A driver and passenger of a ‘small’ car ended up with faces redder than the vehicle itself after somehow managing to mistake a footpath for a road.
The driver and passenger ended up being stuck in their car for over two hours after driving down a footbridge over the A63 in Hull before coming to a stop owing to a bollard.
The emergency services were called to the scene in Hessle and were no-doubt slightly amused by the ‘error’ of judgement required in order to carry out this dodgy maneuver.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police told reporters from the HullDailyMail.co.uk:
“We were called just before 3pm after a car became wedged on a footbridge.
“There are no disruptions to traffic in Hessle or the A63, and there are no injuries.
“The car is scratched and recovery teams are on their way to free two occupants from the vehicle.”
It was last reported that the vehicle was still ‘in situ’ later into yesterday evening…
