Police in Spain are asking for the public’s help in the naming of a rescued puppy that they now also want to train to become a new member of the force.
Whilst responding to an emergency call, police in Granada found a male who was repeatedly kicking a german shepherd puppy as it lay in the street.
After arresting the male and saving the puppy from a life of misery and pain, they rushed the dog to a nearby vets fearing that the puppy might not survive the night.
The officers became so attached to the dog, that they sought approval from their superiors to ‘rescue’ it and to enrol it into the forces dog section. The request was approved.
A poll on Twitter is currently under way (see below) in order to pick a new name for the rescued puppy.
It was on Monday that Officers first shared a tweet with a heart-wrenching picture of the rescued dog:

Local media have reported that the heartless owner of the dog had been mistreating him, as well as other dogs, and has since been reported for the offences.
The poor dog had several bruises and injuries to its stomach.
Scans later revealed that thankfully there was no internal damage to the puppy and it has since made a full recovery.
So far it would appear that the puppy is destined to be named ‘Stan Lee’ with this option receiving 39% of the votes:
