APPEAL: Police Want To Find Male Who Helped Them At Leicester City FC Match

Police in Leicestershire are trying to trace a supporter from the Leicester City FC Match at the weekend who assisted officers in making an arrest.

During the football match on Sat 6th Oct between Leicester City and Everton FC, police officers were made aware of a man who was allegedly throwing coins at rival supporters.

After the football match had finished, a member of the public assisted the police in detaining the man.

a 22-year-old man, who was arrested, has since been charged with throwing a missile in a spectator area and a public order offence.

He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court at a later date.

Considering how many children were at the match, it is only by sheer luck alone that none of them were hit by the objects which were being thrown.

PC 248 Dave Stevens said: “unfortunately, while officers were arresting the suspect, the assisting member of the public left before we could speak to him and thank him.

“we would like him to get in touch with us so we can personally thank him for his assistance.

“If you are this man, or know who he is, then please call Leicester Police on the non-emergency 101 number”.
