A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said:
“The force is working closely with Andrew’s family to ensure we plan the funeral to their wishes.
“We anticipate an increase in visitors to the city on the day.
“If you are planning to visit the city on the day, then you will see a large police presence as we work with partners to ensure the funeral is safe and secure.
“Our thoughts remain with Andrew’s family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time”.
“This is a private funeral, but we welcome people to Oxford to pay their respects along the processional route.
“Members of the public can position themselves behind the barriers that will be in place.
“Following the church service, there will be a private cremation and wake for family only.
