Tribute Paid Following Death Of Serving Officer
Tributes have been paid to 51-year-old Rebecca Golding, a serving police officer (custody Sergeant), whose body was found at a Perranporth property last week.
Devon & Cornwall Officers were called to St George’s Hill at around 9.50am on Wednesday 3 July by the ambulance service.
A response unit attended the scene, and Rebecca was pronounced deceased.
Rebecca joined the Devon & Cornwall Police in 1989 and was most recently working as a custody sergeant based in Newquay.
Her daughter Eloise (pictured with Rebecca) paid the following tribute:
“What can we say? We never expected to have to do this. She was a mother, sister, and aunt; all this and so much more. Poet, equestrian and animal lover.
“She struggled, fought and won on many occasions, but she was always Bekkie.
“We joked with her, we teased her, laughed at her (a lot), but we will never forget her. She is loved, missed and will never be forgotten – ever.”
A spokesperson for Devon & Cornwall Police confirmed that the death is not currently being treated as suspicious, and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
A source told Emergency Services News that Rebecca was a well-liked and highly respected officer.
Our thoughts are with Rebecca’s family, friends and colleagues.
