Male Throws Brick At Police Car As It Arrives At A 999 Call

A male has been arrested after a police car was damaged during an incident in Cheltenham in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 11 July.

Response Team Officers were responding to a report of a disturbance at Bentley’s Bar in High Street just after 3.00 am.

When they arrived on the scene, a male threw a brick at the windscreen of the response vehicle.

Thankfully, neither officer was injured, but the vehicle was damaged and had to be taken out of service for repairs.

Gloucestershire Police confirmed that a 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing criminal damage as well as for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

He is currently in custody awaiting questioning.

Police have asked anyone with information about this incident to call Gloucester Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 41 of 11 July.

  • There is no deterrent now, no respect at all for law and order. So glad the officers were ok but the law needs tightening up doubling sentences.
